Guys, this is something statistically interesting. Is there anyone who has a better batting average than Sir Don Bradman? We all know that Sir Don was, is, and probably will be on top forever when we discuss batting average in test cricket. But hang on… numbers do lie sometimes… Here we go with an interesting fact about someone who has better numbers than Sir Don Bradman.

West Indian wicketkeeper, Andy Ganteaume, holds the record of a batting average of 112.00 in test match cricket. However, Andy has played just one test match. On his debut, he scored a ton in the first inning and didn’t get an opportunity to bat in the second inning of the game. Now, despite scoring a century, Andy did not get an opportunity to represent his country as, according to selectors, he was too slow while scoring a century, and that was the precise reason why West Indies could not register a victory over England. The test match ended in a draw. This resulted in his omission from the playing XI. The West Indies team was playing with the aggressive 3 Ws (Worrell, Weeks, and Walcott), and it was not acceptable for Caribbeans to accept a draw when victory was easily achievable. So although Andy could not play for his country after that test match, he still holds that permanent record of the highest batting average of 112. Well… that’s definitely not better than Bradman, but yes… Numbers do lie, at least sometimes.
